We want to especially thank every member of our previous Executive Committee and for everyone who stepped forward to run in the incredibly close Dec. 15 Election.

We are hoping members will step forward before the January 26 6pm meeting for consideration for the two vacant positions. Per our bylaws, that election will follow the same procedure we just completed: there will be a call for an election, candidates must self-nominate by emailing Chair Denson not later than 10 days before that election, only post-holding members can elect, etc.

ACC Democrats’ Campaign to Forgive Medical Debt

For every $1 donated, $100 of local people’s medical debt was to be forgiven through our campaign with ‘RIP Medical Debt.’ From February to November, the $5,875 the ACCDC has raised was expected to forgive $587,500 of medical debt from our neighbors. Instead, our donations stretched and we were able to abolish $1,549,990 of debt in GA-District10. Letters to people whose debt is forgiven will be sent before Christmas and we will receive a report of the impact we had in our community. Press release coming this week.
