These training sessions are free and open to Democrats who are interested in running for office or supporting others running for office. Each session will take place on Zoom on a Sunday from 2:00pm to 4:30pm.

Sept. 12th: Campaign Management
Facilitators:
Daniel Hilton, Campaign Manager for Gwinnett County Commissioner Kirkland Carden’s historic City Council run in Duluth and Shelly Hutchinson’s successful State House run in 2018 that flipped a seat.
Aditya Krishnaswamy, Campaign Manager for Mokah Jasmine Johnson’s inspiring Georgia State House Campaign for District 117, which covers parts of Barrow, Clarke, Jackson, and Oconee Counties. Aditya also served as Field Organizer for the Working Families Party during the victorious 2021 Ossoff/Warnock Senate runoffs.
On Sept 12, Learn from Daniel and Aditya how to build and manage a positive and nurturing campaign environment where staff, volunteers, and community members are appreciated and valued.
Sept. 19th: Building A Movement-Centered Campaign & Fundamentals of Fundraising
Facilitators:
Stephen Smith, Founder and Co-Chair of WV Can’t Wait, who built a slate of over 90 candidates, helped create 54 county teams, and organized 39 constituency teams representing seniors, educators, veterans, LGBTQ+ folks, and many more during his run for Governor in 2020. The movement organized nearly 200 town halls and, through conversations with 11,000 of their neighbors, created a true People’s Platform called the “New Deal for WV.”

Deborah Gonzalez, District Attorney for the Western Judicial Circuit, composed of Clarke and Oconee counties. A former Georgia State House Representative for District 117, Deborah beat Governor Kemp in court 5 times – fundraising over $300,000 in legal fees alone – just to win the right for the people of Clarke and Oconee to choose their District Attorney. She is the founder of Bluebird PAC, a grassroots political action committee which provides resources and training for non-traditional candidates, as well as the Justice Warriors PAC and the Justice Action Fund.

El-Mahdi Holly, Georgia State House Representative from District 111. El-Mahdi also served as Regional Field Director at the Democratic Party of Georgia and Field Organizer at Cory Booker for U.S. Senate.
Paul Glaze, Director of Public Affairs for GA Familias Unidas and Policy Analyst for GA State House Rep El-Mahdi Holly. Paul also served as Campaign Manager at Devin Pandy for Congress and Campaign Manager at Daniel Blackman for Public Service Commission.
